Marymount Education Foundation Donates $2.625M in Scholarship Funds to Chapman University

The Marymount Education Foundation has committed $2.625 million to Chapman University to provide transformative scholarship support for 40 Southern California students. This funding will help Marymount Scholars pursue their degrees with the goal of graduating debt-free, equipped with the academic resources, leadership development, and support necessary for long-term economic success.

In addition to tuition assistance, Marymount Scholars will receive funding to help offset a range of expenses associated with higher education, including housing, study abroad opportunities, and leadership development programs. Chapman University is one of four local institutions partnering with the Foundation to deliver this comprehensive support to students with significant financial need.

“Chapman University is incredibly grateful to receive this generous commitment from the Marymount Education Foundation,” said Matt Parlow, President of Chapman University. “We are honored to be among the universities entrusted with this opportunity to support deserving students and help remove financial barriers that can stand in the way of academic success.”

Marymount Scholars at Chapman University represent a wide range of academic interests and backgrounds, including both first-year and transfer students. Scholars are identified by the university from among admitted students who demonstrate significant financial need, a commitment to community engagement, and residency in Southern California. Through this partnership, students are selected without a separate application process, ensuring access to support for those who may benefit most.

“We believe that, when possible, students should have the opportunity to pursue a private higher education without the burden of overwhelming financial stress,” said Robyn Jones, Executive Director of the Marymount Education Foundation. “Our partnership with Chapman University reflects a shared commitment to investing in students who may not otherwise have access to a highly ranked private institution. By providing comprehensive, long-term support, we aim to address the unique needs of first-generation and high-need students—during their college years and well beyond graduation.”

This partnership reflects the Marymount Education Foundation’s enduring commitment to expanding access to higher education and investing in students with the potential to thrive when given the right support. By working alongside Chapman University, the Foundation continues to create pathways that remove financial barriers, empower scholars, and open doors to lasting opportunity. Together, we are proud to support students as they pursue their educational goals and build futures rooted in purpose, leadership, and possibility.
