A Powerful Welcome: Marymount Scholars Join Chapman’s 2026 Opening Convocation
The Marymount Education Foundation was honored to join Chapman University for its 2026 Opening Convocation, a meaningful tradition that welcomed incoming students and their families as they prepared to begin their college experience.
Held on Wilson Field, the evening brought the Chapman community together through remarks from university leadership, music, and a memorable fireworks display celebrating the start of a new academic chapter.
Representing the Marymount Education Foundation were Board President Rick Edler, Treasurer Brian Marcotte, Trustee Ryan E. Alcantara, Ph.D., and Assistant Program Director Payton Sprouse. Their attendance was especially meaningful as MEF celebrated alongside its first cohort of Marymount Scholars at Chapman and their families.
For our scholars, the evening marked one of their first experiences as members of the Chapman community. Surrounded by family, university leaders, classmates, and supporters, they were welcomed into an environment committed to helping them grow academically, personally, and professionally.
MEF is deeply grateful to Chapman University for inviting the Foundation to take part in this special tradition and for the warm welcome extended to our scholars and their families.
As our inaugural Chapman cohort begins this new chapter, the Marymount Education Foundation looks forward to supporting them throughout their college journeys and celebrating the many milestones still ahead.
